Three Types Of Algae
Algae are microscopic organisms that thrive in water
and can prosper in a short amount of time as their
environment will permit. Above Ground Pools are
acquainted with the pest, which form just like any
other life form, where plenty of food and sunshine
are available. The key to eliminating algae or
preventing it is to control its environment.
3 basic types of algae:
GREEN- This class of algae can be found floating in
the water or clinging to the sides of your pool or
spa. Dusty green in color, if this plant prospers to
the point of no control it can completely fog your
water.
YELLOW-Also known as ‘Mustard Algae’ due to its
mustard color, this plant makes its appearance
normally on the shady sides of your pool wall.
BLACK-This class of the organism varies from a dark
blue-green to black. It collects to form extremely
sticky 1 inch spots on pool surfaces.
