Winterizing Above Ground Pools

Clean filter (cartridge or sand) and change D.E.
Vacuum pool, clean sides and bottom of pool as well as around ladder.
Balance PH by adding Pool Plus or Pool Minus to reach a PH of 7.4
Adjust Alkalinity to 80-120 PPM following manufacturer's directions to lower or raise.
Test Cyanuric Acid (conditioner) Adjust to 25-72
Use Chealting agent (sun clear) to remove metals and small particles. This will also lower TSD- Total Dissolved Solid from water
Adjust Calcium to 200-250
If in a freezing climate use a skimmer face plate and drain water from skimmer and disconnect filter and store in garage.
Put on a winter cover, using a pillow and a floater with a 3 inch tablet. Check monthly and replenish when necessary.
