How Does ThomsonTec Work?
The ThomsonTec uses an ionization process to sanitize the water in your pool.
Quite simply, ionization is a process whereby an element gains and loses ions. An ion is an atom or group of atoms that contain an electrical charge. An atom is comparable to a small solar system. It contains a nucleus in the center, and one or more negatively-charged electrons orbiting around the outside. The nucleus contains positively charged particles called protons. An atom usually has an equal number of protons and electrons.
The ThomsonTec Water Conditioning Systems Technology works by passing low-voltage direct current through a copper/silver anode positioned in the flow of the circulating water.
The low voltage charge causes some other atoms of the anode to lose electrons which become positive ions as they attempt to flow across the space between the anode and cathode. They are swept away into the water by the force of flow.
Once released, the positive copper ions create a natural toxin in the form of copper sulfate, which is a powerful enemy to algae and bacteria.
